Fire and rescue breathing-air systems
SCBA cylinder-filling systems configured for your department.
Match the compressor, storage, fill controls and operator-protection equipment to your cylinder pressure, daily demand, available power and response workflow.

Application-driven selection
Design around the cylinders and the way your team fills them
A dependable SCBA filling station starts with the actual cylinder profile: cylinder volume, starting and final pressure, fills per day, peak simultaneous demand and required turnaround time. Those inputs determine compressor capacity and whether storage will improve the workflow.
LW Americas can help configure the compressor, breathing-air purification, storage banks, filling panel, hoses and connections, monitoring and armored safety filling cabinet as a coordinated system.

Who this page serves
High-pressure breathing air for safety-critical operations
Fire departments
Configure routine station filling around your cylinder fleet, shift demand, fill pressure and operator workflow.
Rescue and emergency teams
Plan stationary or transportable filling capability around deployment requirements, power availability and replenishment speed.
Industrial safety programs
Match the system to on-site breathing-air equipment, connection standards, peak demand and facility conditions.
System architecture
Choose the filling approach that matches demand
Direct compressor filling
A straightforward approach when the compressor capacity and acceptable fill time align with the department’s cylinder demand.
Compressor plus storage
Properly sized storage can support peak demand and faster cylinder turnaround. Storage pressure and component ratings are matched to the system.
Integrated filling station
Combine compression, storage, filling panels, monitoring, controls and operator-protection equipment in one configured solution.

Selection note: maximum compressor pressure is not the same as the chosen cylinder-filling pressure. Final pressure, cylinder valve, connector, hose, storage and filling equipment must all be reviewed together. Additional configurations are available; this table is a practical comparison of selected models, not the entire L&W range.
Complete-system planning
Details to confirm before equipment selection
- Cylinder volume, quantity and valve standard
- Starting pressure and required final pressure
- Typical daily fills and peak simultaneous demand
- Required fill time and recovery between fill cycles
- Direct filling versus storage-assisted filling
- Available voltage, frequency, phase and starting capacity
- Equipment-room ventilation and clean intake-air location
- Filling-panel, hose-routing and operator-protection needs
- Condensate collection and disposal plan
- Space, access and service-clearance requirements
LW Americas can support a wide range of power requirements and system configurations. Final equipment and electrical requirements are confirmed for the specific installation rather than assumed from a generic package.
From application to recommendation
A practical four-step selection process
Define demand
Document the cylinders, pressures, fill quantities and turnaround goals.
Review the site
Confirm power, ventilation, intake-air quality, footprint and workflow.
Configure the system
Select compressor capacity, purification, storage, controls and fill equipment.
Verify before ordering
Confirm every pressure rating, connection, option and installation requirement.
Frequently asked questions
SCBA filling-system questions
What compressor capacity is available?
The selected published models shown here range from 100 to 320 L/min (3.5 to 11.3 cfm). LW Americas can review other configurations when the application requires them.
Can the system fill 4,500 psi SCBA cylinders?
Systems can be configured around 300 bar filling applications, but the exact cylinder, valve, connector, hose, storage and filling-panel ratings must be verified together before selection.
Do fire departments need a storage bank?
Not always. Storage can improve peak-demand performance and turnaround, but it should be sized from the cylinder profile rather than treated as a universal requirement.
Are 6,000 psi storage systems available?
LW Americas can supply storage and related components for higher-pressure SCBA applications. Final vessel, hose, panel and connection ratings are confirmed as part of the system review.
Can the filling station include an operator-protection cabinet?
Yes. Armored safety filling cabinets and integrated filling controls are available as system options.
What information is needed for a recommendation?
Provide cylinder volume and valve type, starting and final pressures, fills per day, peak demand, desired fill time, available power, installation conditions and whether storage is preferred.
Request an application review
Tell us what your department needs to fill.
Share the cylinder details, demand, site conditions and power available. The LW Americas team can recommend an appropriate starting configuration.
Final specifications, compatibility, installation requirements and applicable approvals are confirmed during application review and quotation.
